Pana Columbus, Executive Director

Pana has devoted her life to creating systems that support both individual and community transformations. While serving as the former Director of Community Relations with another local nonprofit, she designed and launched the Learning Shack program to help youth being raised by grandparents positively transition into adulthood.

As the Interim Executive Director at Under One Sky Village Foundation, she and a team of four adults who'd experienced foster care created The Care Circle, a peer support group for youth aging out of the foster care system. She was the Producing Artistic Director of a professional theater company for eight years that catalyzed positive community transformations including the creation of a green charter school that continues to serve 400 youth a year.

Pana is thrilled to be working with the visionary THRIVE! Board, a group of brilliant young people, their families, and the tremendous community partnerships that make up the THRIVE Appalachia family.
